I love it!! But only before Christmas and I get off of school because of it...like I did yesterday! Yay! I love snow days.....at the beginning of the day when you realize that you don't have school, you plan out all of the things that you are going to get done, all of the practicing and cleaning you are going to do, etc. And then your day is sucked into a book, oh, let's say <i>The Count of Monte Cristo</i>. Great book. Except for the fact that once you get into it, <i>you can't stop reading. </i>That is exactly what happened to me yesterday...<div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>Update on the Harry Potter Contest: Mark is now almost done with the 6th book; Amy is still only halfway through 1. That's 3000 pages. I feel a congratulations are in order to give to Mark, as it is doubtful that Amy will <i>ever </i>finish. </div><div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>Song of the Week: "Bad" by Michael Jackson. I would have it start playing, but I don't know how....Someday I will understand computers and make it happen, but today is not that day. So guess what? Now you get to go look up this song on iTunes, buy it, and then ROCK OUT. </div><div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>It seems that the universe does not want me publishing this blog- when I tried to publish it last week I accidentally deleted the whole thing and then gave up in frustration. Our Internet went down while I was writing it, and then I didn't realize that I published the post to the wrong blog- how embarrassing. Well, someday this blog will get published. </div>Amy Kayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12153658045753617675noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9178914166345914.post-42732472379575605172010-12-21T22:49:00.000-08:002010-12-21T23:13:32.692-08:00Greetings from the new boss of this blog!<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>Hi this is Jenny, Amy's awesome sister. I have hijacked her blog and decided to post something on it, because she has been a slacker and hasn't posted ANYTHING. <div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>For anyone wondering, no she is not still in Europe, she got back in May. Amy is still grateful for stuff, and I'm sure she has a lot more to say about her travels, but that is all for now. This summer has gone by uneventfully, but Amy did get a new job and started her junior year at BYU-I. Yay! So exciting. Right now Amy is in a competition with her friend Mark to see who can read the whole Harry Potter series first. Amy is, so far, 10 pages into the book. Mark is almost done with the 2nd book. I think you can all join me in wishing Amy good luck, but we all know who is going to win this thing (Begins with an "M", ends with an "ark").</div><div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>This weekend we had to opportunity to go see David Archuleta with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for their Christmas Concert. Sweet! It was awesome. He has an amazing voice, and yes, I will be marrying him in a few years. :) I wanted to go introduce myself after the concert, but I don't think security would have let me jump onto the stage and hug him. It wouldn't go over too well...</div><div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>I would also like to add that the new Harry Potter 7 film is <i>awesome</i>. Amy thinks so, too. If you haven't seen it yet, then go tomorrow and buy some tickets and some popcorn and be prepared to have your mind BLOWN. I was freaking out all night after I saw it. </div><div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>Well, I hope that you have all enjoyed my quick overview of life. I will make sure that I get back to you soon, because I know that Amy won't. Merry Christmas!!!</div>Amy Kayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12153658045753617675noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9178914166345914.post-22518201904434214042010-05-08T14:42:00.000-07:002010-05-08T14:50:34.766-07:00luxuries...Here are a few things that I never knew were luxuries... until now:<br /><br />-restaurants that don't charge you more to sit and eat, rather than just take away.<br />-free toilets<br />-toilets that actually <span style="font-style: italic;">have</span> a toilet seat<br />-having the right of way at a cross-walk... they will just barrel right on over ya!<br />-eating more than bread and hot chocolate for breakfast<br /><br />I love learning all these things first-hand. Ever since I left SLC, everything I have seen has been awesome. First airplane flight (I discovered that I LOVE flying), seeing Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, the National Gallery, British Library, walking the streets of London and seeing all the adorable houses, Salisbury Catherdral, riding the tube for the first time (the metro is less than desierable after so many times :)), enjoying the Effiel Tower, Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe, seeing all the square trees in France, etc, etc, etc... I could go on for days! Literally, everywhere I turn I see another something that is awesome. My mind can't handle all this awesomeness I see... but I love it incredibly. I throughly enjoy beinging a foreign country, like L-O-V-E it. I get random bursts of overwhelming excitement. Tis fabulous.<br /><br />I can't wait to write of all of my adventures, but for not it is extremely late and we are leaving at 3:00 tomorrow morning to enjoy warm and exciting Rome! Plus this computer is no go; confusing European keyboards.... Stay tuned for more details!!!<br /><br />p.s.- Thanks to Tammy, my sister, for the header of awesomeness! Love her... And you can get one too <a href="http://sunnyfionadesign.blogspot.com/">here</a>!Amy Kayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12153658045753617675noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9178914166345914.post-8674355573283322072010-03-22T17:32:00.000-07:002010-03-22T17:59:04.016-07:00an afternoon with fiona<img style="cursor:pointer; No, I did not go anywhere; I am still here in lovely Rexburg enjoying school. I have had a "blogger's block" and did not have any amazing, shocking, or horrifying stories to tell. But, I realize now that each post doesn't have to be some elaborate story with incredible pictures included! I can post about any random thing I want to. I'm not taking on the task of keeping up a blog to please others (although I do appreciate those that follow my blog, don't get me wrong). This is just another way for me to express me and keep track of the goings-on in my life. So there. :) </div><div><br /></div><div>I have also decided that being a procrastinator is no good. So taking better care of my blog is one of my first steps to becoming a non-procrastinator person. It is definitely a working progress though. And as for now, today is turning out to be a fantastic day!!! Here are some things that make me happy at the moment:</div><div><br /></div>-hot showers<div>-Jack Johnson</div><div>-fog (as always)</div><div>-The olympics</div><div>-visiting teaching</div><div>-amazing friends</div><div>-My family foundations class (a.k.a. the best class ever invented)</div><div>-Pepperidge Farm's wheat crisps</div><div>-mint brownies</div><div>-exercise!!! (to work off the mint brownies)</div><div>-prayer</div><div>-lunch with my bestie</div><div>-and of course, my family :)</div><div><br /></div>Amy Kayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12153658045753617675noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9178914166345914.post-24395062506809661062009-11-24T20:07:00.000-08:002009-11-24T21:58:20.207-08:00the best things in life are free!..... mostlyI seriously think that someone out there does not want me to post anything. Ever again. It has taken me hours between trying to find the camera cord to downloading pictures from Jenny's camera to finding all the right links. Frustrating! And who said blogging was easy? For the record, they were wrong. So no pics this time either. But it's all good. I can deal with this. Deep breaths. Chill. <div><br /><div>I don't know why, but life has been SO hilarious lately. Have I finally cracked and gone nuts? Or are these random events actually funny? Either way, at least they brightened my day. :)</div><div><br /></div><div>1. I was filling up "my" car at Maverick and only wanted $26 in the money-sucking gas tank but got distracted. Which happens easily. So I jumped out of my dodge to stop the pump just as it hit $30.00 exactly. Without even trying! I have mad skills at the gas pump.....</div><div><br /></div><div>2. Right after that, Jenny and I raced into "Great American Video" (which is WAY too long of a name to say and has nothing to do with edited movies. What's wrong with "Clean Pics" or "Movie Rentals Here"?). We wanted to rent The Proposal but alas!, they were all gone. We cried. Then an employee came to the rescue! Someone had just returned a copy and we got the last one. High-fives all around. </div><div><br /></div><div>3. To top the night off, we opened the last popcorn bag in the box! Ok, that one was a cheat. We only got the second to last popcorn bag but we were on an awesome get-the-last-of-everything night. So you can see how necessary it was to continue the streak.....</div><div><br /></div><div>4. To fully understand this one, you must watch <a href="http://www.hulu.com/watch/11931/saturday-night-live-penelope--traffic-school">this</a>. After Tammy introduced Katie and I to this comical video, I wrote the following on a leaf to put on top of our family Thankful Tree, positioned above everyone else's naturally: "I was thankful for everything before everyone else so...."</div><div><br /></div><div>Apparently, sometimes the best things in life are not free. Was $30 at the gas station and a movie rental worth a smile and a chuckle though? You betcha. </div><div><br /></div><div>And Jenny's toenail fell off tonight. Hilarious.</div></div>Amy Kayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12153658045753617675noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9178914166345914.post-20736414631602593022009-10-10T18:25:00.001-07:002009-10-11T19:56:10.677-07:00jo-siahhhhh........So I was power walking through the BYU-I bookstore yesterday while making my daily hike up to the Hinckley from the Snow (for those you who don't know the ridiculous distance between these two buildings, try hiking a mile uphill on a 90 degree angle in 10 minutes). Anyways, as I was huffing and puffing my way through the bookstore, I got stuck behind a slow walker. Isn't it just infuriating to get caught behind someone slow when you're in a hurry? Pet peeve right here. So I signal into the other lane of walking traffic to pass this nuisance to all society when he turns his head back towards me and and asks me where I'm headed to. <div>"The Hinkley. Where are you going?"</div><div>"The Tay-Tay."</div><div>"Tay-Tay, eh? What's your name?"</div><div>"Jo-siahhhhhh......"</div><div>"Really. You are my new best friend."</div><div>And in the next two minutes it took to walk to the 'Tay-Tay', I learned that Jo-saihhhhh wanted to name his future daughter Kameria which is some mythological disease that actually kills people, and when you are in a shark attack (which happens all the time, obviously) you are to:</div><div>1. punch the shark in the nose because that is how it detects fish miles away and this would disorientate it terribly</div><div>2. gouge its eyes out at the <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;">same</span> time (apparently this is vital in defeating a shark when it is about to eat you) and</div><div>3. rip its gills in the opposite direction they lay. No biggie right?</div><div><br /></div><div>I don't know who the heck this guy was and I will probably never see him again but he sure made my whole week. I can only hope I can brighten and educate someone's day just as this Jo-siahhhh did for me. </div>Amy Kayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12153658045753617675noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9178914166345914.post-49013280177241214052009-09-17T21:06:00.000-07:002009-09-19T14:53:59.482-07:00quote of the day<div>Quotes are just the best ever. They have just redone all of the walls and I have to say it looks loads better than the old, rotting wood before. Too bad they didn’t think of that 3 years earlier…<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>Anyways, it was funny to walk down all the halls and look in all the classrooms I spent 3 years of my life in. Man, that is a long time. I will be forever grateful that I don’t have to spend one more awkward lunch hour deciding who to sit with or daring one another to talk with a secret crush. Lunch hour was hard for me being the shy one, but the rest of high school was enjoyable. Things were so carefree then and life was much simpler. Don’t get me wrong, I would never want to go back and do it again. But I had a good time. I will never forget sophomore year in Mr. Benson’s debate class. Camille Hardy and I made that class a blast. Congress had to be my favorite part with all the ludicrous bills we would make up. That and it was easiest part of debate. All I found in there tonight was a woman behind her computer literally rockin out to Weird Al’s “EBay”. I sure got a kick out of her off-tune singing and odd dance moves. And in the math hall, there was another teacher practicing some sort of skit with off-tune singing and awesome dance moves too! Little known Rexburg secret: If you want some fantastic entertainment that will keep you laughing, go to the high school at night when the late working teachers think everyone has left. I have to warn you though, you might just pee your pants laughing so bring an extra pair.</p> <!--EndFragment-->Amy Kayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12153658045753617675noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9178914166345914.post-68326476273987018142009-08-25T20:35:00.001-07:002009-08-25T23:18:08.921-07:00a rainy sunday<div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); ">Sunday was a pretty stormy day and cute Jack-Jack was sick. Near the top the list is the <span style="font-style: italic;">Reflections of Christ</span> CD. This has to be my all-time favorite gospel CD ever! Each and every one these inspirational numbers evokes such spirituality and I love how unique each song is. While listening to it today, I thought I should share my enjoyment with everyone (even though there are few that will read this). If you do not already own it, then I highly, <span style="font-style: italic;">highly </span>recommend you should. Every track is a favorite, but Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing and Be Still, My Soul are absolutely breath taking. I still get chills every time I listen to those two. The DVD is also the best and it portrays Jesus Christ's life in a new light. Love it!Amy Kayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12153658045753617675noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9178914166345914.post-45306516703398247912009-07-18T23:16:00.000-07:002009-07-18T23:45:22.991-07:00my patronus is....I love movie premieres. They have always been such a blast! But the premiere for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has probably been the most fun so far. Tim Stricklan, Jake Morris, Ammon Surey, and I made the coolest t-shirts you will ever see in your life. Actually, is was more Tim and I that made the shirts until 3 a.m. the night before while Jake and Ammon sat there, watched Harry Potter, and threw out some ideas. The boys whittled the wands themselves and a big thank you to Ammon’s mom for completing the whole outfit with some wicked robes. Sierra Miller was able join in on the fun also.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCiB2DAx-x4m_FQdsz6t7a3XSiDirrKfhK08zKzlxh_FR-eSZ5CbxjqlvxERb2IzqHSwaolU00NLGjblTgtdGJyqbiOu0_mfBvutfck7KyfYtqjZCeGntqhl1f77BfHxj97G_S8Pqf1O0/s1600-h/6060_1176821054002_1032362800_560383_1068475_n.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 299px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCiB2DAx-x4m_FQdsz6t7a3XSiDirrKfhK08zKzlxh_FR-eSZ5CbxjqlvxERb2IzqHSwaolU00NLGjblTgtdGJyqbiOu0_mfBvutfck7KyfYtqjZCeGntqhl1f77BfHxj97G_S8Pqf1O0/s400/6060_1176821054002_1032362800_560383_1068475_n.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5360055792981329826" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpBY_lt2XzGZygQc5tm3vOm8o2c4CcFg2jR3c7YRxo5Ea5QLJrmzT4075_3JoHb-_cip8tlpIyvD7NdmVhea5SuMpoFjAzty2XaXTHMUKvBc5LJJ83MqTmrlJg_ul4HxnKqw5m7E89Dm4/s1600-h/6060_1176821094003_1032362800_560384_1571864_n.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 351px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpBY_lt2XzGZygQc5tm3vOm8o2c4CcFg2jR3c7YRxo5Ea5QLJrmzT4075_3JoHb-_cip8tlpIyvD7NdmVhea5SuMpoFjAzty2XaXTHMUKvBc5LJJ83MqTmrlJg_ul4HxnKqw5m7E89Dm4/s400/6060_1176821094003_1032362800_560384_1571864_n.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5360056047191311362" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Our list of patronuses (<span style="font-style: italic;">EXPECTO PATRONUM!</span>): Amy- hippogriff, Jake- Optomus Prime, Ammon- Hagrid, Sierra- The Whopping Willow, and Tim- a woman.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTiOCx29EAKTZItFN9jU9CKq6n78K85ig315prgQ-51CWPJNArpV7WVxcPwlCcAR8RVrujPv-BbNRrgNsyvSols0laZ0JKHqrSMX8yVY3BA53gH6sg1rxP4d7DUyZZkrUGW4B-w9U3XVk/s1600-h/6060_1176821534014_1032362800_560394_8379015_n.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 267px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTiOCx29EAKTZItFN9jU9CKq6n78K85ig315prgQ-51CWPJNArpV7WVxcPwlCcAR8RVrujPv-BbNRrgNsyvSols0laZ0JKHqrSMX8yVY3BA53gH6sg1rxP4d7DUyZZkrUGW4B-w9U3XVk/s400/6060_1176821534014_1032362800_560394_8379015_n.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5360056973229274818" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Some friends of ours were there also. I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it was hilarious. Pick me, pick me! Jenny and I were driving back from practicing at the church when I looked out the window and what did I see? Not popcorn popping on the apricot tree, but amazingly beautiful clouds that looked FAKE! The clouds were so perfect in the sky it seemed unreal—like an artist had decided to paint some clouds in the sky this morning. So we hit the brakes and parked the car right there in the middle of the street. Don't worry though, it was right in front of our house on a very non-busy street. With classical music to set the mood, it was almost therapeutic and very relaxing. And luckily, we had a camera right there to capture the moment. Enjoy.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-VVtizQp6EfmGKCz3FYKC9UxCj_FzWd6Cgkl83yolTEqJhaGwbB9ZQ5z-LZ6wdn15P5XvpQrE-OpmhMMlLWo1ukU2OwJhtBqFxHIcEwzfvFae7BLoQAb_nzy1kZB2iReWd8txaL5AgXo/s1600-h/100_1829.JPG"></a><div><br /></div><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWMcDMVQjtAZr3opxbQ4itlzopALU-0unFT83nY18gjAlU7e_XJ8MBbHUjIGosnjl24DZRnvzHK5QqvqGpzi18zDHyve6rMBb2gDv_OdbSRFmTkKWjkVAFbE-BITlKPSnYVJB6Xh2A0xo/s1600-h/100_1841.JPG"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWMcDMVQjtAZr3opxbQ4itlzopALU-0unFT83nY18gjAlU7e_XJ8MBbHUjIGosnjl24DZRnvzHK5QqvqGpzi18zDHyve6rMBb2gDv_OdbSRFmTkKWjkVAFbE-BITlKPSnYVJB6Xh2A0xo/s400/100_1841.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5349856634339943362" style="margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" border="0" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div><br /><div><br /></div><div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhG3G0jW4omFqjEWv1l21WEGH9ucee5ljN0HmyUfl1ZOoggTF5TRz1mh1-REHqbXVAouN_lqfqvqiibAsvTltOMIl7dBKI_b9Zmc8sZ-rT23aI46vytEXZtmhmV3xLNUAPFHUli0PIA4X8/s1600-h/100_1834.JPG"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhG3G0jW4omFqjEWv1l21WEGH9ucee5ljN0HmyUfl1ZOoggTF5TRz1mh1-REHqbXVAouN_lqfqvqiibAsvTltOMIl7dBKI_b9Zmc8sZ-rT23aI46vytEXZtmhmV3xLNUAPFHUli0PIA4X8/s400/100_1834.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5349857226692956978" style="margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" border="0" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXXyhr7OdVVp5iK5GcutUQYr_HGdK-U3qLxt8RcSvq32Vx8j88DH7ZLlPm8ZnFb-vg-h4j5hTesI3yLXJc6iv0sZktxownrukiATJWL5q75cBWQmCU_QTa7O9_us9HV5zrWHTsgQZKe38/s1600-h/100_1822.JPG"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXXyhr7OdVVp5iK5GcutUQYr_HGdK-U3qLxt8RcSvq32Vx8j88DH7ZLlPm8ZnFb-vg-h4j5hTesI3yLXJc6iv0sZktxownrukiATJWL5q75cBWQmCU_QTa7O9_us9HV5zrWHTsgQZKe38/s400/100_1822.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5349636411608309874" style="margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" border="0" /></a></div><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_rNZ1zkHzDGtdZYYfx9hb5LjnVLRLUFV3lGC5jfNmuqGlPTt4FnalhYowd378zeiGFWdVLAWShyphenhyphenolC1eRrBSwveD5mgXXS_j2s3r62h4CL0rzjnVCsmQWFKgFmipb0-oSSTm0jEoj26Q/s1600-h/100_1829.JPG"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_rNZ1zkHzDGtdZYYfx9hb5LjnVLRLUFV3lGC5jfNmuqGlPTt4FnalhYowd378zeiGFWdVLAWShyphenhyphenolC1eRrBSwveD5mgXXS_j2s3r62h4CL0rzjnVCsmQWFKgFmipb0-oSSTm0jEoj26Q/s400/100_1829.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5349858391210737410" style="margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" border="0" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div>Us chillaxing. Kates turned a whopping 17 years old on the 12th this month. She has grown up so fast and I can't believe she is going to be a senior in high school already. Unfortunately, this birthday wasn't quite the celebration any teenager would hope for. Our entire family, dad being the sole survivor, came down with the flu/cold/something last week and Katie got it right on the big day. But it was sort of nice to hang out and chill just as a family.
